The lifeguards in the water were masked, but I was disappointed that they didn’t do what the lodge said they would, which would have required twice the staff to actually enforce the protocols. There were signs that said “please walk” but I saw kids running and no lifeguards telling them to stop. The people standing in lines for rides were standing probably 2 feet apart with no instruction to space out. However, there was no enforcement of their safety “commitments.” They had lots of hand sanitizing stations and masks available, but there were dozens and dozens of people in the water park who weren’t actively in the water-just sitting in chairs and relaxing-who didn’t have masks and it wasn’t enforced at all. I would have hated to be there when it was “full capacity” because it felt super crowded as it was. Negatives: I was hesitant to go during Covid, but I was reassured by their website that they were taking precautions and their safety protocols seriously and that they had limited their capacity (the attached photo is an example of many posters hung throughout the lodge).

Our hotel suite was very spacious and it was super convenient to be able to just take the elevator down to the water park. I appreciated the fact that the kiddie area had small slides that my youngest enjoyed going down all by himself. Good things first: This was my first time going to a Great Wolf Lodge, and the kids loved the water park slides. Guests needed to sign an attestation at check-in, but there were very few actual practices in place and little to no enforcement. We did purchase a Paw Pass prior to arrival, which did provide some extra value, but it seemed somewhat limited compared to some of the other GWL locations that we’ve visited in the past.īiggest concern/complaint would be the lack of actual COVID safety precautions that were in place. We also spent some time in the stores and shops, which were also on the pricier albeit not unreasonable side. A lot of fun for the kids to play, but fun was short lived as credits were quickly used up. We checked out the arcade, which had the standard overpriced games that grant tickets.

My older daughter and I spent a few hours playing their MagiQuest game, which was fun but in serious need of cleaning and repair (i.e., multiple things weren't working correctly). My wife and younger daughter spent some time at the water park on a couple different days, and they really enjoyed the various water slides available. We were staying the weekend at the Great Wolf Lodge, and we were able to partake of some of the different activities that they offered.
